MAHONING SAFE COMMUNITIES AND 55 ALIVE ARE OFFERING THREE HALF-DAY CLASSES TO MOTORISTS 50 OR OLDER ADDRESSING PHYSICAL AND MENTAL CHANGES THAT AFFECT DRIVING ABILITY AT THAT AGE.



Mahoning Safe Communities and 55 Alive are offering three half-day classes to motorists 50 or older addressing physical and mental changes that affect driving ability at that age.
Drivers who take the course may qualify for an auto insurance premium reduction. The course will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 3, 10 and 17 at the District Board of Health office, 50 Westchester Drive, Austintown. Senior Center of Mahoning County, 1110 Fifth Ave., Youngstown, has scheduled the following: Monday, income-tax appointments at 9 a.m. and bridge and follies at 1 p.m.; Tuesday, oil painting, computer class and exercises at 10 a.m., blood pressure screening and computer class at noon, chorus at 1 p.m. and digital class at 2; Wednesday, watercolor class at 10 a.m., outing to Alberini's at 11, tai chi at noon, blood pressure screening at 12:30 p.m., and yoga and 500 cards at 1; and Thursday, Watch Our Weight Support Group and woodcarvers at 9 a.m., Hugs & amp; Stitches Group at 10, blood pressure screenings at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. and square dancing at 1 p.m. and line dancing at 3; and Friday, income-tax appointments at 9 a.m., exercises at 10 and crafts as 12:30 p.m. The center has applications for the SBC Lifeline Ohio telephone discount program for $12.38 a month to eligible applicants.
