Deadline nears to buy bricks in Mercer courthouse garden
MERCER, Pa. -- Deadline is approaching for memorial or honorary brick submissions as coordinated by the Mercer County Courthouse Memorial and Honor Garden Committee.
April 11 will be the final day bricks may be ordered for scheduled placement at the courthouse during the week of May 17.
Bricks are being placed for reasons ranging from birthday and retirement gifts to honoring an organization or an individual.
The memorial and honor garden are located on the north side of the courthouse on either side of the portico.
Bricks cost $53 each. Each brick may have three rows of print with 17 letters per line, and blanks should be counted as spaces. The fewer letters or lines on a brick, the larger the print will be.
All money collected through the sale of bricks will be used to maintain the gardens on the north side of the courthouse.
Placement of bricks will next take place in the fall.
Send your order to Memorial and Honor Garden, 119 South Pitt St., Mercer, Pa. 16137.
Checks can be made out to the "MCCMHG Fund."
