DISTINGUISHED ALUMNI Warren schools name hall of fame's 2005 class



The banquet is scheduled for May 7.
WARREN -- The board of directors of the Warren High Schools Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame has named 11 inductees for its 2005 class.
The inductees will join 114 hall of fame members.
The annual awards banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. May 7 at DiLucia's Banquet Room, 2610 Elm Road.
Induction recognizes those individuals who, through their performance and achievements, reflect credit on the Warren high schools (Harding, Warren High and Western Reserve), so that students may find identity in the past and establish goals for the future.
The new class
The newest inductees:
UHerbert R. Brown, a 1958 graduate of Warren G. Harding High School, who became the senior vice president of Western & amp; Southern Financial Group in Cincinnati.
UKay Wagner Fisher, a 1943 Harding graduate, who is a preservationist and an area volunteer.
ULarry James Gianakos, a 1971 graduate of Warren Western Reserve, who is an historian and philanthropist.
URichard D. Hamilton, a 1955 graduate of Harding, who is an engineer and director of product supply for Proctor and Gamble.
UPatrice Payiavlas Kouvas, a 1977 Harding graduate, co-president of AVI.
UArden O. Lea Jr., Ph.D., a 1944 graduate of Harding, an entomologist who retired from the University of Georgia.
UEdward C. Miner, Ph.D., a 1958 graduate of Harding, who became a university professor of sociology and psychology.
UJames Ognibene, a 1966 graduate of Harding, who has become a professional clarinetist with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra in New York.
UElizabeth Frances Spahr, Ph.D., a 1948 graduate of Harding, who became an associate director of the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science.
UG. Duke Virca, Ph.D., a 1970 Harding graduate, who became a senior principal scientist of Amgen Corp.
UCatherine M. Young, a 1950 Harding graduate, who is the head of the voice department of the Victoria Conservatory of Music in British Columbia, Canada.
