Police issue murder arrest warrant for Warren man nicknamed 'C-Dog'



WARREN -- Police have issued a murder arrest warrant for a 22-year-old city man in connection with Warren's first homicide of 2005.
Charged is Jonathan Owens, also known as "C-Dog." Police do not have an address for him but said he's believed to be moving about in the city.
He's described by police as a black man, 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 190 pounds. Anyone knowing his whereabouts is urged to contact Detective Mike Krafcik at (330) 841-2675 or Warren police at (330) 394-2521.
Ladell V. Smith, 20, of 1741 Southwest Blvd., died in a car late March 13, shot in a Highland Homes parking lot.
He was found after officer Tim Parana responded to shots being fired in the housing development about 11:15 p.m.
Arriving at the 348 Lane Dr. lot, the patrolman saw a 1996 Chevrolet with the driver's and passenger's side windows broken out.
The police report states Smith was in the driver's seat and died at the scene.
