Workshop at Westminster to study assessment system in Pennsylvania
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Westminster College Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will host "Value Added Assessment: Theory into Practice" from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 30 in the Lakeview Room of McKelvey Campus Center.
The workshop will feature Stanley Herman, Pennsylvania Value Added Assessment System advisory committee consultant, and Sharon Kirk, DuBois Area School District Team.
The program, which includes lunch, will help participants become familiar with how the Value Added Assessment System will work in Pennsylvania to track an individual student's academic progress through the grades. Herman will provide the latest on how this program will be implemented in all districts, while Kirk will discuss application in her district.
The event is sponsored by the Tri-State Area School Study Council Department of Administrative Policy Studies at the School of Education of the University of Pittsburgh in collaboration with the Drinko Center.
