Businesswomen's chapter names woman of year



SHARON -- The Shenango Valley Charter Chapter of the American Business Women's Association named its vice president, Jean Keene, as 2005 Woman of the year at its March 2 meeting at the Shenango Valley Civic Center.
Keene, a Jamestown, Pa., resident, is a 10-year member of ABWA and is employed in the accounting department at Joy Cone Co., Hermitage, Pa.
Past honorees were recognized, and Jean Hauger, the 2004 Woman of the Year, gave her "Top 10 Reasons for Being an ABWA Member."
"Be a Star" was the theme of the event chosen by chairman Nancy Tusinac and her committee.
The chapter, which meets the first Wednesday of each month, offers businesswomen of diverse occupations opportunities through leadership, education and networking support. Last year it awarded $10,000 in scholarships to local students.
