GIRARD
March 13
Theft: A man discovered a lock on a freezer he had on his pickup truck had been pried open while he was in the 500 block of Miller Street. About $500 worth of meat products were taken.
Theft: A Youngstown woman left Creekside Golf Dome, 1300 N. State St., and noticed the AM-FM stereo had been removed from her truck.
Assault: A McDonald man told police that after dropping his girlfriend off at her residence in the 200 block of East Second Street, someone shot him in the hand, likely with a BB gun. He had a welt on his right hand.
March 14
Possible theft by deception: A woman in the 100 block of Dearborn Street told police she received a call from a company offering her $5,000 in government grant money if she answered some questions. The woman said she hung up after refusing to tell the caller where she does her banking.
Arrest: After police say a Girard man fled on foot before being served with a warrant, officers arrested the suspect in the 1100 block of Park Avenue. The felony warrant from Cortland charged him with attempted burglary.
Theft: A Youngstown man reported that when he tried to retrieve two coolers at the former site of a Sammy's Quik Stop, 230 N. State St., he discovered they were missing.
Fraud: A woman in the 1000 block of Washington Avenue told police her mother-in-law got a call from a company, possibly in Washington, D.C., claiming she won $300,000, and that the caller asked her to send $3,000 to cover the taxes. When the woman told him she didn't have the money, the caller apparently told her to wire him half of the amount.
Assaults: A girl, 10, reported another girl threw a book at her, striking the victim in the face, as they walked on Forsythe Avenue. The girl had redness and swelling near her right eye and a small cut over her eyelid. The other girl said she was tossed to the ground and had snow thrown at her.
LIBERTY
March 9
Theft: An employee at Advance Auto Parts, 3179 Belmont Ave., said an Austintown woman, 31, stole a package of twin headlight bulbs valued at $37.
Theft: A man in the 900 block of Pinecrest Avenue noticed the rear license plate missing from his vehicle.
Theft: A man in the 10 block of Holly Drive reported the theft of a $300 cellular phone from his fiancee's coat pocket and $20 missing from his wallet.
Arrests: After conducting a traffic stop in the 2900 block of Oakland Avenue, police arrested two men, 21 and 22, both from Youngstown. One man faced seven counts of driving under suspension; the second suspect was charged with possession of drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia after officers say they found inside his apartment two bags of suspected marijuana and suspected marijuana on a digital scale.
March 10
Theft/criminal damaging: A Mechanicsburg, Pa., man discovered his work van's cargo lock damaged while he was at the Hampton Inn, 4400 Belmont Ave. Two tool handbags, a five-volt, 18-piece power kit, a hammer drill and numerous other tools and supplies were taken, for a loss of $3,983.

Misuse of a credit card: A Youngstown woman alleged her former boyfriend, 34, was fraudulently issued a credit card in the victim's name and that he used it to obtain $500 worth of services at Belmont Veterinary Clinic, 2900 Belmont Ave.
Domestic violence: A Girard man, 23, was picked up near state Route 193 and Tibbets-Wick Road on a domestic-violence charge after his aunt alleged the man grabbed her by the shirt, spit in her face and pushed her at her Scott Lane home.
March 12
Theft/aggravated menacing: Officers arrested a Warren man, 36, near the Liberty Plaza, 3551 Belmont Ave., on charges of theft and aggravated menacing. Employees at Denny's Restaurant, 4020 Belmont Ave., told police a customer refused to pay his food bill and threatened to shoot everyone in the business.
March 13
Drugs: After pulling over a car near Ventura and Aurora drives, police apprehended a 22-year-old Youngstown man. He was charged with drug abuse (marijuana) after officers say he admitted a bag containing suspected marijuana found under the passenger seat was his.
March 14
Auto theft: A Herriman, Utah, man discovered a U-Haul vehicle he was renting as well as a 1993 Ford Explorer attached to it were stolen while he stayed at the Super 8 Motel, 4250 Belmont Ave.
Theft: A Youngstown man discovered two coolers valued at $2,000 missing from a building in the 4300 block of Belmont Avenue.
Auto theft: A man reported his 1990 Olds Delta 88 missing from his driveway in the 400 block of Arbor Circle.
Arrests: After performing a vehicle registration check and determining the car had been stolen, police arrested four people in the Giant Eagle parking lot, 4700 Belmont Ave. The driver, a 37-year-old Youngstown man, was charged with receiving stolen property (auto), possession of drug-abuse instruments and possession of drug paraphernalia; a Youngstown boy, 17, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia. The other two passengers were released and faced no charges. Officers say they found two suspected crack pipes as well as a black case containing a syringe and other suspected paraphernalia.
Drugs: After stopping a driver for speeding near Green Acres Drive and Trumbull Avenue, police arrested a 17-year-old Girard boy after they say he voluntarily turned over a bag of suspected marijuana he had in his possession. Officers say they found a suspected marijuana pipe in the car, and the boy was charged with drug possession (marijuana) and possession of drug paraphernalia.

March 11
Theft: A woman in the 500 block of West Liberty Street reported the theft of a stereo from her vehicle.
Fraud: An employee at a doctor's office in the 200 block of North Main Street called police after a male patient reportedly presented an altered prescription.
March 12
Criminal mischief: A Saul Drive resident reported juveniles in a pickup truck and car were tossing eggs at homes from their vehicles.
Domestic violence: A Christian Avenue man was arrested at his home on a charge of domestic violence.
