FUND RAISING Western Reserve foundation halfway to $10 million goal



The money will go for various expansion projects.
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Western Reserve Health Foundation's capital fund-raising drive has raised $5,130,000 toward its $10 million goal.
The money will be used for several expansion projects at Western Reserve Care System, which includes Forum Health Northside Medical Center, Tod Children's Hospital and Beeghly Medical Park.
The expansion has been dubbed The Forum Promise because it will help the health-care system to continue its promise of leading, responding and healing within area communities, officials said.

At Beeghly Medical Park, the plan includes:
UConstruction of a three-story childbirth wing and moving childbirth and nurseries there from Northside Medical Center.
UExpansion and relocation of the pharmacy, dietary department and laboratory services.
UConstruction of CancerCare Centers radiation oncology services.
At Northside Medical Center and Tod Children's Hospital, the plan includes:
UConstruction of a new entrance.
UConstruction of a new parking deck with 547 parking spaces.
URenovation and expansion of the emergency department.
URenovation and expansion of the diagnostic imaging department to include MRI, nuclear medicine, radiology and ultrasound.
UConstruction of an addition.
The capital campaign committee, which is chaired by David H. Sweeney of Youngstown Buick Pontiac GMC Truck, has been separated into five special sections.
Chair of the Family Gifts Division is Tom E. Campbell, M.D., Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Forum Health, and vice chair is Gretchen Birrell.
Chair of the Leadership Gifts Division is James E. Sisek of Butler Wick & amp; Co. Inc.
Co-chairs of the Major Gifts Division are John Fleming of Superior Beverage Group and Judy Fleming. The committee is also broken down into a Special Gifts Division and Businesses/Organizations Division.
