CRIME Police nab 4 in South Side drug raids

Two of those arrested admitted selling drugs, police said.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Four drug-related arrests were made when members of the vice squad used search warrants and rammed their way into three South Side homes.
Those arrested Friday are due in municipal court Monday morning for arraignment.
At 552 Idora Ave., Marcus A. Clarett, 23, of West Ravenwood Avenue, was charged with drug abuse (marijuana).
Police confiscated a bag of suspected marijuana from the living room floor. Police found a bag containing several rocks of suspected crack cocaine in a bedroom light fixture and a loaded .44-caliber handgun in a hallway cupboard. Police said Clarett could face cocaine and weapon charges pending further investigation.
At 31 Chicago Ave., Carlos Crues, 32, of Clarencedale Avenue, was charged with trafficking in marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, a scale.
Police confiscated 15 packaged-for-sale bags of suspected marijuana. Police said Crues admitted selling marijuana from the house.
Cocaine charges
At 2511 Rosedale Ave., the resident, Keasia M. Brown, 27, was arrested on charges of drug abuse (crack cocaine), drug abuse (powdered cocaine), possession of dangerous drugs and possession of drug paraphernalia (crack pipe).
A bag of suspected crack was found in a coffee cup and a bag of suspected powdered cocaine and a crack pipe were found on a milk crate. An unlabeled pill bottle with several types of prescription medications was also found on the crate, police said. Brown admitted to police that she sold crack from the residence, reports show.
Also at the Rosedale address, police arrested Ken Davis, 58, of West Indianola Avenue. Police said Davis tossed a handgun into the basement when they arrived. He was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, illegal possession of a weapon (based on a prior conviction) and possession of drug paraphernalia (crack pipe). Police confiscated the gun, a loaded .22-caliber handgun, and the crack pipe.
