Richard Harpster, to wed Miss Laper in Michigan rite

XCANFIELD -- The engagement and summer wedding of Rebecca Laper and Richard Harpster, both of Chicago, are being announced by the prospective groom's parents, Jim and Sharon Harpster, 61 Saybrook Drive.
The bride-elect, a daughter of Patrick and Kathleen Laper of Rochester Hills, Mich., is a senior accountant for PepsoCo. in Chicago, where Mr. Harpster is an analyst for Svoboda Collins Co. Both earned business-accounting degrees at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
The couple are planning a 4:30 p.m. ceremony Aug. 27 in Lutheran Church of the Redeemer and an evening reception at the Community House, both in Birmingham, Mich. Invitations will be issued.
