Hacker guides Ironton past West Muskingum



Hamler Patrick Henry and Ottoville also won regional titles.

LANCASTER -- Sara Hacker scored eight of her 25 points during a decisive run in Ironton's 54-41 win over Zanesville West Muskingum Saturday in a Division III regional final Saturday.
Hacker, who also had 16 rebounds, provided most of the scoring during a 15-2 run that gave Ironton (24-1) a 27-12 lead with 1:52 left in the first half.
West Muskingum (22-4) pulled within 43-37 with 3:29 to play in the fourth quarter on a layup by Jessica McKenzie, but Ironton hit 9 of 10 foul shots down the stretch to preserve the win.
McKenzie finished with 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Ironton's Andrea Rudmann added 15 points.
Hamler Patrick Henry 53,Orrville 49
LEXINGTON -- Amanda Cressler scored four of her 13 points in overtime to help Hamler Patrick Henry beat Orrville in a Div. III regional final.
In the fourth quarter, Haley Badenhop's layup capped a 12-4 Patrick Henry (24-1) run and tied the score 41-41 with 4:32 to play.
The two teams traded baskets the rest of the way, winding up with the score tied at 46 with 1:41 left. Orrville (18-7) held the ball for a last shot but missed in the final seconds.
Powered by Cressler's two layups, Patrick Henry outscored Orrville 7-3 in the extra period.
Orrville's Amanda Turk scored 16, and Erica Short added 10 points and 20 rebounds.
Alison Meyer had 16 points and nine rebounds to lead Patrick Henry.
Ottoville 48,Bascom Hopewell-Loudon 29
ELIDA -- Stacey Wannemacher had 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead Ottoville over Bascom Hopewell-Loudon in a Div. IV final.
Wannemacher hit a jumper and a fast-break layup during an 8-2 run that gave Ottoville (22-3) a 20-13 lead with 5:16 left in the first half. Ottoville never trailed after that.
Ottoville shot 53 percent while holding Hopewell-Loudon (19-7) to 23 percent shooting.
Megan Kleman added 11 points and eight rebounds for Ottoville.
Carrie Ritzler had seven points to lead Hopewell-Loudon.
