Fitch's Lucente rolls high series and game



COLUMBUS -- Andrea Lucente of Austintown Fitch High rolled the top series (660) and singles game (279) of the tournament, leading the Falcons to a second-place finish in the state bowling tournament Saturday at Rainbow Lanes.
Sixteen girls and 16 boys teams competed in the tournament.
Cincinnati Seton captured the girls championship and Wapakoneta won the boys title.
Lucente's series also had games of 182-199.
Grace Sciarra of the Falcons finished 19th as she rolled 187-187-179--553 and Staci Balkan was 30th with a series of 180-178-145--503.
Struthers placed fourth in the tournament, as Melissa Mettee finished ninth with 182-192-212--566.
The Wildcats' Deborah Davis placed 16th with a 166-184-205--555 series and Samantha Gigax put together a 184-188-168--540 series.
Fitch finished fifth in the boys standings.
Matt Clipse of the Falcons placed fifth with a 244-205-222--671 series and Frank Mineo was seventh with a 264-187-213--654 set.
Scott Killian of Hubbard placed 10th as he rolled 238-183-232--653.
The top eight individuals (boys and girls) received medals at the conclusion of the tournament.
