Buffalo stampedes to win over Akron

ALBANY, N.Y. -- Turner Battle scored 13 points and had nine assists to lead Buffalo to a 72-56 win over Akron on Saturday.
With the score tied at 35, Battle's 3-pointer with 16:21 remaining in the second half sparked Buffalo (19-8, 11-7 Mid-American Conference) to a 16-4 run.
Daniel Gilbert led Buffalo scorers with 17 points and Roderick Middleton had 15.
Cedrick Middleton scored 17 points to lead Akron (18-9, 11-7). Darryl Peterson had 13.
Cent. Michigan 71, B. Green 66
BOWLING GREEN -- Giordan Watson scored 22 points and Sefton Barrett added 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead Central.
Kevin Nelson also had 11 points for the Chippewas (10-17, 4-14 MAC).
John Reimold led the Falcons (17-10, 10-8) with 17 points, while Steven Wright finished with 16. John Floyd had 12 points and Josh Almanson 11.
Marshall 54, Miami (Ohio) 47
HUNTINGTON, W.Va. -- A.W. Hamilton and Mark Patton scored 14 points apiece and Patton added 11 rebounds to lead Marshall.
Enoch Bunch also hit double-figures, scoring nine of his 11 points in the second half for Marshall (6-21, 3-15 MAC).
Josh Hausfeld and William Hatcher scored 12 apiece on four 3-pointers to pace Miami (18-9, 12-6). Danny Horace, who came in leading the RedHawks with 15.4 points per game, scored nine of his 11 in the second half.
Toledo 78, E. Michigan 70, 2 OT
TOLEDO -- Keith Triplett scored the last six points in the second overtime and finished with 19 points in Toledo's victory over Eastern Michigan.
The Rockets (16-12, 11-7 MAC) had a 72-67 lead with 1:50 left in the second overtime when Derek VanSolkema made a free throw and another basket to cut the lead to two.
Triplett took over after that, sinking four straight free throws and a layup as time expired to provide the final margin.
Justin Ingram scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds for the Rockets, who placed five players in double figures. Toledo held the Eagles to just 32 percent shooting from the field.
John Bowler had 19 points and nine rebounds and Markus Austin pitched in 14 points and 11 rebounds for Eastern Michigan (12-17, 5-13), which outrebounded the Rockets 54-43.
Ball St. 88, W. Michigan 81
MUNCIE, Ind. -- Peyton Stovall scored a career-high 29 points and Terrance Chapman chipped in with 18 points and a game-high 12 rebounds to lead Ball State over Western Michigan.
Julien Mills added 24 points for Ball State (15-12, 10-8). Western Michigan's (18-11, 11-7) Ben Reed led all scorers with 35 points. Also scoring in double digits for Western Michigan were Levi Rost and Joe Reitz, who had 13 points each. Reitz also grabbed 11 rebounds.
