WACO, Texas -- Chelsea Whitaker had 16 points and eight assists, helping Baylor clinch its first Big 12 regular season title outright. Baylor (24-3, 14-2 Big 12) won all 14 home games this season, and stretched its homecourt winning streak to 17 since a loss to Texas Tech late last season. The Lady Raiders (21-6, 12-4) missed a chance to share their fourth Big 12 title and dropped to the No. 4 seed in the Big 12 tournament in Kansas City next week. Steffanie Blackmon had 17 points and seven rebounds for the Lady Bears. Sophia Young had her 37th straight double-figure scoring game with 15 points and 12 rebounds, while Abiola Wabara had 10 points in the game played in front of 10,550, the largest crowd ever in the Ferrell Center.
No. 24 Gonzaga 77, Portland 42
SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- Ashley Burke scored 16 of her 18 points in the second half and Gonzaga extended its winning streak to 22 games in the first round of the West Coast Conference tournament. The Bulldogs' winning streak is the longest current stretch in Division I women's basketball.
