Marsalis coming to YSU
YOUNGSTOWN -- Jazz saxophonist Branford Marsalis will perform March 23 in Youngstown State University's Stambaugh Auditorium.
Marsalis, a three-time Grammy winner who has collaborated with Sting, the Grateful Dead and Bruce Hornsby, will perform at 8 p.m. in the Leonardi Legacy Concert as part of the Skeggs Lecture Series.
The show also will feature a performance by the YSU Jazz Ensemble. Reserved tickets cost $5. Call (330) 941-3105.
Westminster dancers
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The Westminster College Dance Theatre will perform at 8 p.m. March 10-11 and at 2 p.m. March 12 in Orr Auditorium.
The theme is "Every Dance Tells a Story." The show will feature five senior solos, a duet, a baton routine and other dances in tap, hip-hop, lyrical, jazz and Irish. Tickets will be available at the door.
Ron White in Pittsburgh
PITTSBURGH -- Comedian Ron White, known for his work on the Blue Collar Comedy Tour, will perform May 14 at the Benedum Center. White has sold out large venues nationwide during his Drunk in Public Tour, on which he is promoting his comedy album of the same name.

Cedars closes to minors
YOUNGSTOWN -- Cedars Lounge & amp; Restaurant, 23 N. Hazel St., is closing its doors to minors on Friday and Saturday nights. Because of legal concerns, the downtown bar's management will no longer allow 18 to 20-year-olds into the building those nights.
Poetry reading March 15
KENT -- Two award-winning poets will read from their works at 7:30 p.m. March 15 at Kent State University's Student Center, Room 306.
Catherine Pierce and J. Gabriel Scala, both published poets who have received numerous honors, will give a joint reading, hosted by KSU's Wick Poetry Center. Pierce and Scala both were winners of the 2003 Wick Poetry Chapbook Competitions for Ohio Poets, which the poetry center has conducted since 1992.
