Grant to help sewer project
BROOKFIELD -- Trumbull County will receive $428,000 from the state to bring sewer lines to 28 township households.
The money was awarded through the Ohio Department of Development.
The grant is be used to maintain, improve and expand water and sewer systems. The target area is an Ohio Environmental Protection Agency "unsewered area of concern" at Brookfield Center. The area includes a part of state Route 7, all of Wood Street, and Strimbu Drive leading to the township administration building.
The Trumbull County project's total cost is $857,000 and involves installation of 6,300 feet of sewer lines. The difference will be made up with county revolving loan fund dollars and state Issue 2 funds.
Assistance with sewer line tap-in fees will be available to those whose incomes would qualify.
