Four PAC teams head to postseason tournaments
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Four Presidents' Athletic Conference basketball teams were selected for postseason play.
Bethany College was selected to the 48-team NCAA Division III men's tournament field.
The Bison (24-3) will play at John Carroll Thursday at 7:30 p.m. The winner of that game will play at Wittenberg Saturday.
The Bison have won 11 straight games and have already set a school record for wins.
Bethany last made the NCAA tournament in 2002, beating beating Pitt-Bradford in the first round before losing to Otterbein.
PAC women's tournament champion Westminster and runner-up Washington & amp; Jefferson also earned NCAA tournament bids.
The Titans (20-7) travel to Dickinson (Pa.) College (24-3) Wednesday, while the Presidents (21-6) will play at William Smith (N.Y.) College (18-7).
The Westminster-Dickinson winner will play at Messiah (Pa.) College (24-3) Saturday and the W & amp;J-William Smith winner will head to Oswego (N.Y.) State (24-3).
Grove City's women's team was invited to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southern Championship Tournament, where the Wolverines (16-9), as the No. 7 seed, will play second-seed DeSales (Pa.) University (20-7) Wednesday at 6 p.m.
Grove City last went to this tournamet in 2001.
The Wolverines won the event in 1997 and were runners-up in 2000.
