Late rally helps lead Roth past Youngstown Metros



Bazetta-Cortland Optimist and Lone Wolf won Warren Class AA games.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Roth Brothers rallied for five runs in the last two innings to clip Youngstown Metros 7-5 in a Class AA League baseball game at Pemberton-Donnell Park.
With the scored tied 5-5, Eric Barone walked to lead off the top of the seventh inning for Roth Brothers. Keith Jackson's bunt single put runners at first and second.
Another sacrifice bunt moved the runners up another base.
Jim Putko singled home Barone and Jackson.
Brian Frasco doubled home two runs and he scored for Roth Brothers in the sixth.
Putko and Jackson hit a pair of singles apiece for the winners.
Brent Parks and Mike Denori each singled twice for Youngstown Metros, who led 5-2 after five innings.

WARREN -- Bazetta-Cortland Optimist scored six runs in the bottom of the second inning, then added four more in the fifth as it clobbered Metro Ice 13-3 in a Warren Class AA League game at Packard Park MacGregor Field.
Greg Bungo, who drove in two runs, Brandon Hillman and Doug Wajda led the winners (8-9) with two hits apiece.
Josh Miller hit a two-run home run to give Metro Ice a 3-2 lead in the top of the second inning.
Christian Thoma added a triple.

Lone Wolf Freight Systems scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning to posts its eighth win of the season.
D.J. Gross pitched a complete game as he scattered four hits with five strikeouts to pick up his fourth win.
Pat Stantial hit a triple and single and teammate Cle Hollingsworth hit a double and single for the winners.
Drew Mullee hit a double for D & amp;K Roofing.
