Habitat for Humanity dedicates two new houses in Struthers

STRUTHERS -- The Habitat for Humanity Mahoning County Chapter dedicated its 14th and 15th houses Tuesday in Struthers.
The Acosta and Wellman families will own the side-by-side houses at 149 and 151 Oakview, respectively. Both families invested 350 hours of sweat equity into the 1152-square-foot homes and will receive no-interest mortgages from the Mahoning County Habitat for Humanity.
Two sources funded the Acosta home: First Energy and the Youngstown-Columbiana Board of Realtors. First Energy funded the Wellman home.
The Rotary/Realtor Group helped construct the Acosta home.
Volunteers from Boardman High School, area churches, Youngstown State University and Home Savings & amp; Loan helped build the Wellman home.
Applicants to become Habitat Partners and Owners must have reasonable credit, not own property, have an annual income between $14,000 and $22,000 and be willing to invest 350 hours in sweat equity into building their home.
