Same man suspected in home invasions

One woman yelled, 'Get out of here,' and the intruder ran.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Two East Side women were the victims of home invasions, likely by the same suspect, police said.
The break-ins took place within 45 minutes of each other early Tuesday. The intruder remains at large.
Around 3:30 a.m. Tuesday, a 55-year-old woman in the 1700 block of Cromwell Street awoke to noises in her bedroom and a man shining a flashlight in her eyes. He told her his partner had a gun to her husband's head in another bedroom.
The woman screamed and the intruder ran, taking a purse with him out the front door. He broke the window on the screen door getting out.
Police said the man gained entry by removing the screen from an open bedroom window.
The woman's husband, who had been asleep in another bedroom, told police no one held a gun to his head and he didn't wake up until his wife screamed.
The second case
At 4:15 a.m., police were sent to the 3000 block of Shannon Avenue for a burglary-in-progress call.
The 79-year-old victim said she'd heard someone in her kitchen and, when she checked, saw a man coming up from the basement with a flashlight. She yelled, "Get out of here!" and he ran back down the steps.
Police said the intruder gained entry by breaking a basement window and climbing in over the washer and dryer. He apparently left the same way.
Police said the woman's basement phone had been taken off the hook.
Outside, officers found car keys that belonged to the first victim on Cromwell Street. They also found two bottles of prescription medications in another woman's name with an address that no longer exists. It's a vacant lot.
