NEW YORK-PENN LEAGUE 6th inning rally seals Scrappers' win

The team wasn't bothered by a rain delay before its victory over the Muckdogs.
NILES -- The Mahoning Scrappers scored five runs in the sixth inning Tuesday to break a 2-2 tie in a 10-3 victory over the Batavia Muckdogs in a New York-Penn League game at Eastwood Field.
The Scrappers (4-4) and Muckdogs (4-4) have split the first two games of their series, with the rubber contest set for tonight.
The game was delayed for an hour and five minutes because of rain.
"I was very pleased with our hitting and pitching tonight, Scrappers manager Rouglas Odor said.
"The delay didn't bother us at all. We knew the weather was going to break, and it was just a matter of what time it would start," Odor said.
Strong pitching
Jensen Lewis, the third-round draft pick and 102nd overall selection by the Cleveland Indians, drew the starting assignment and didn't disappoint.
Lewis, from Vanderbilt University, pitched three strong innings and allowed two hits while recording a strikeout in his first professional start.
"Jensen Lewis hadn't pitched since late May but was unbelievable tonight," Odor said. "He was sharp, showed a lot of confidence on the mound and challenged the hitters with his fastball and changeup. He had an outstanding professional debut."
Lewis said he "had a few butterflies, but was just happy to get back on the mound. All I wanted to do was go after the hitters, stay within myself and have command of my pitches.
"I was just hoping to leave mistakes out of my performance," Lewis said. "It's good to get back on the mound."
Scoring runs
The Scrappers got on the scoreboard first in the second inning when Boodle Clark tripled and scored on a Derrick Peterson single.
Peterson scored when designated hitter Andy Lytle reached first on a throwing error by Muckdogs shortstop Ben Blanton.
Batavia tied the game in the top of the sixth on a two-run homer by second baseman Clay Harris.
The Scrappers came back in their half of the sixth with five runs, highlighted by Lytle's two-run double.
Batavia added a run in the top of the seventh when Blanton's sacrifice fly scored Lou Marson.
The Scrappers added three more runs in the bottom of the seventh on catcher Omar Casillas' two-run triple and a run scoring single by Jordan Brown.
