Astro Falcons 7, Wharmby Sports 0 -- Trent Vallenger pitched a one-hit complete game shutout. Mike Kelly had three hits for Astro. Ryan Ward had Wharmby Sports' hit.
Line Drive Academy 3, Mahoning Valley Panthers 2
Rondinelli 12, All-Star Sports 2 -- Cory Nesbitt hit a home run and a triple while John Simon tripled and singled to lead Rondinelli. Simon went the distance for Rondinelli. Matt Durkin doubled for All-Star Sports.
Rizer Group Insurance 11, Salem AC 4 -- KeKoa Glazia went 2-for-4 and drove in three RBIs to lead Rizer Group Insurance. Mike Frasso, Cameron Reynolds and Chris Wheeler also had two hits each.
Joe Koch Realty 13, Sluggers 3 -- Jason Bagoly had four hits and five RBIs while Ricky Segesto pitched a complete game and had two hits. Jared Kirin and Kevin McCulloh had two hits each while Matt Pitzulo had a hit and two walks for Koch. Adam Meese and Jimmy Haupt had two hits each for Sluggers.

Wharmby Sports 12, Mahoning Valley Panthers 10
Sluggers 8, Salem AC 3 -- Andy Zigmont went the distance for Sluggers, allowing three runs, striking out two while not allowing a walk. Sluggers sent 12 men to the plate and scored seven runs in the sixth inning. Leading the hit parade was Jim Haupt with two hits and two RBIs, Adam Meese with two hits, Andy Zigmont with a double and a run scored, and Ben Barth with two runs and a hit. Leading the scoring for Salem was Nick Howley, Brandon Holland, and T.J. Rosenburg, each scoring once.
Rizer Group Insurance 7, Line Drive Academy 5 -- Justin Gorgacz pitched a complete game and had two hits to lead Rizer. Mike Leonard had three hits and Mike Natale had two hits.
Rondinelli 5, Joe Koch Realty 4 -- Cory Nesbitt pitched a complete game. John Simon led Rondinelli with three hits and two RBIs. Jaymee Shepherd had two doubles and Dan Baco had two RBIs. Jonathan Brady had a hit, two walks and one RBI for Koch Realty.
Tri-T Colt (ages 15-17)
Lakeview Insurance Center 11, Austintown 8 -- Brad Jones, John Norton, Steve Miller, Dave Somerville, Kyle Stroup and Mike Stewart had multiple hits. Harrison had a two-run triple. Miller, Jones and Stewart each had two RBIs. Catcher Stroup threw out two runners. For Austintown, Anthony Ricci's two hits included a double. Jake Volsko, Marty Chance and Cal Locketti had hits.
Lakeview Echo Builders 22, Niles Schultz Service Center 4 -- Kevin Monti and Kevin Cox combined to strike out six. Cox, Monti, Adam Lindsey, Vinnie Elias, Josh Lawrence, Dave Bertleff and Doug Eastman had two hits. For Niles, Bobby Williams, Justin Brown and Justin Hall had hits.
Tri-T Pony (ages 13-14)
Canfield Allison Waste Disposal 9, West Branch Terry's Tire Town/Mack Trailers 4 -- Ronnie Sullivan and Kyle Kesner combined to toss a three-hitter to put Canfield in first place. Nick Reinthaler and Mark Pelini each had two hits including a double. Kesner and P.J. Stickle also had two hits. For West Branch, Zachary Lenigar, Kolin Stanley and Tyler Strawser had hits.
Canfield Allison Waste Disposal 9, Boardman GF Insulation 2 -- Tim Calhoun pitched a weather-shortened one-hitter. P.J. Stickle and Donnie Allison each had two hits including doubles. Also with key hits were Nick Benson and Matt Costello. For Boardman, Dave Guzzy had the hit.
SOFTBALL
Traveling (18-younger)
Valley Sting 18U fastpitch team -- finished fourth at the ASA Regional Qualifier in Fairborn. Sting opened the tournament with a 2-1 win over the Colorado Stars as pitcher Kasey Karr (Champion) held the Stars to five hits. Offensively, Karr had two hits and scored a run and Chelsea Butler (Cortland) had two hits. The second game saw another Sting pitcher, Markie Pozzuto (Mecca), toss a five-hitter in a 2-1 loss against the Blitz from Kentucky. Pozzuto's single and triple and Pam Dreslinski's (Kingsville) two hits were the highlights. Against Ohio Ice, Dreslinski's two-out, eighth-inning single drove in Allie Patton (Poland) with the winning run in a 4-3 game. Karr went the distance and allowed only one hit in innings five through eight. Against Lady Lasers Gold, the Sting's opponents struck for six runs in the fifth inning to earn a 7-2 win. Sting was led by Patton's single, double and two runs scored. Sting travels to Zanesville this weekend for five games on Saturday and more on Sunday.
