Rondinelli and Koch go ahead



The second games of the two series are set tonight.
STRUTHERS -- Rondinelli Tuxedo rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh inning rally past Wolf Contracting 4-3 in Game One of the first round of the Class little b playoffs at Cene Park on Sunday.
The second game will be played at 6 tonight at Koch Field.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Josh Dankovich singled, then Dan Banna hit what looked like a game-ending double play grounder. But the ball took a bad bounce and went off the glove of the shortstop for a infield single, putting runners at first and second.
Dave Sherock walked to load the bases and Corey Gentile tied the game with a two-run single to right field.
After a strikeout, Mike Rubesa singled in the go-ahead run with his second hit.
Wolf had taken a 2-1 lead in the fourth on a two-run single by Cory Johnson and added another run in the sixth on a double by T.J. Stoian that scored Garrett Malloy, who had reached on his third hit of the game.
Steve Zubyk went the distance for the victory.
He had eight strikeouts and walked just one.
Tyrone Wright suffered the loss.
He went 61/3 innings and had eight strikeouts.
Wright also had two singles, as did Garen Ream for Rondinelli.
Wolf had runners on second and third in the bottom of the seventh inning with two out but was unable to score.
Koch Construction/Line Drive 11, Dave Sugar Excavating 1
After splitting the two-game regular season series, Koch/Line Drive pounded out 10 hits to take the opening game.
Dan Kubala had a pair of RBI singles, while Matt Pitzulo and Corey Susany had two hits each for the winners.
Nick Turko tossed a two-hitter, striking out six, and allowed one unearned run.
Jeremy Savaet took the loss, allowing seven runs (four earned) on five hits in 21/3 innings of work.
