This year's Summer Reading Program "Dragons, Dreams & amp; Daring Deeds," "Joust Read," and "Knights & amp; Ladies" continues in July. All programs are free and open to the public.
CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS
"Be a Knight in Shining Armor: Make Your Own Shield." Stories, games and a craft for school-age children at East, 2 p.m. July 27; and South, 6:30 p.m. July 21.
"Castle Corner Craft Club." Children of all ages are invited to drop in and make a craft to take home at Boardman, 9 a.m.-8 p.m. July 6, 13, 20, 27.
"Castle Crafts." Stories and crafts fit for a knight, a king, and a queen for children ages 3-6 at Main Library, 10 a.m. July 27.
"Come & amp; Join the Fun." Stories and more fun for children ages 3-6 at Boardman, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. Wednesdays.
"Parachute Fun." Stories and parachute fun for children ages 2-6 at Boardman, 10 a.m. or 1 p.m. July 27. Child must be accompanied by an adult.
"Come to a Pony Ride." Have fun, ride a pony. Children of all ages must be accompanied by an adult at Austintown, 2 p.m. July 12. In case of rain, pony rides will be rescheduled -- call Austintown Library for a rain date.
"Come to a Positively Preposterous Puppet Performance." Enjoy a puppet show set long ago and far away ... for children of all ages at Poland, 1 & amp; 7 p.m. July 27.
"Come to a Royal Romp." Stories, games, and craft for children of all ages at Brownlee Woods, July 29; Campbell, July 14; Struthers, July 13; and for children ages 3-6 at Main Library, July 19. All at 10 a.m.
"Courtyard Crafts for School-age Children." Main Library, 10 a.m. July 21.
"Craft a Cool Castle." Drop in, make and take a castle craft for children of all ages at West, July 19, 20, 22, & amp; 23, during library hours.
"Days of Knights." Stories, games, and crafts for children of all ages at Austintown, 2 p.m. July 28. Courtly courage is needed to commence this challenge.
"Diary of a Worm by Doreen Cronin." Stories, craft and a peek into the busy life of a lovable worm -- presented by Peg Flynn and Kim Lewis, Green Team of Mahoning County, for grades K-3 at Lake Milton, July 20; and North Jackson, July 26. Both 2 p.m.
"Dragons and Dreams: A Library Magic Show Starring Jim Kleefeld." Meet the Vanishing Dragon, the Knave of Hearts, the Errant Princess, and other magical friends fun for the whole family at West, 10 a.m. July 29.
"Dragons, Dreams, and Magic with Jocko the Clown." Fun for the whole family at Campbell, July 26; and Lake Milton, July 27. Both 2 p.m.
"Dragons, Dreams, and Magic with Porgie the Clown." Fun for the whole family at Sebring, July 27; and South, July 28. Both 6 p.m.
"Family Fun with Fractured Fairy Tales." Featuring the skit "Falling for Rapunzel!" Each family will make a castle at Brownlee Woods, 6:30 p.m. July 21; Campbell, 6:30 p.m. July 19; and Struthers, 10 a.m. July 20. Refreshments.
"Feudal Fare." Jesters, dragons, castles, and more -- craft fun for children of all ages at Austintown, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. July 5; Lake Milton, 3 p.m. July 6; and North Jackson, 3 p.m. July 7.
"Gallant Games and Crafts Galore." Fun for children of all ages at Canfield, 10 a.m. July 26; Greenford, 2 p.m. July 25; and Sebring, 10 a.m. July 21.
"Gallant Games and Stories Galore." For children of all ages at Austintown, 7 p.m. July 13. A parent is asked to accompany preschool children.
"Harry's Back! Come to a Harry Potter Workshop Presented by Tom's Phoolery." Learn tricks and illusions, receive a magic kit (school-age children), or trick you can do (preschool children) at Struthers, 6:30 p.m. July 26.
"Hear Ye! Hear Ye! Splendid Crafts To Make & amp; Take." Crafts for children of all ages at Canfield, 10 a.m. July 5; Greenford, 2 p.m. July 11; and Sebring, 10 a.m. July 7.

"Once Upon a Time ..." Tales of fair maidens and brave knights for school-age children at Sebring, 10 a.m. July 14; and for children ages 3-6 at Main Library, 10 a.m. July 6.
"Soap, Soap, Soap." Hear stories and make your own soap for children of all ages at Boardman, 7 p.m. July 19.
"The Madcap Puppet Theatre Presents ... Monkey See, Monkey Do." The monkey have escaped from the zoo and it's up to the Madcap giant puppets to find them -- fun for the whole family at Boardman, 10 a.m. July 14.
"The Madcap Puppet Theatre Presents ... The Fantastic Fairy Tale Show." A giant puppet and storytelling adventure filled with audience participation -- fun for the whole family at Austintown, 2 p.m. July 25.
"Time for Babies and Books." Books, songs, rhymes, and more for children ages 6-12 mos. at 9:30 a.m. and for children ages 13-23 mos. at 10:30 a.m., July 7, at Boardman. An adult must accompany each child.
"Wildly Wonderful Week-Long Craft Event Part 2." Make and take a frog prince, jester's hat, and a pocket dragon during library hours the week of July 18-23 at Poland.
"Ye Olde Medieval Festival." Family fun at Main Library, Saturday, 11 a.m.-3 p.m. July 9. Join the fun in front of Main Library on Wick Ave. There will be medieval performers, games, face painting, sidewalk chalk art and puppet shows. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
ADULT PROGRAMS
"Medieval Garden of Herbs with Lady Catherine." Lady Catherine travels from the village of Lovain in the year 1429 to teach us the importance of herbs in the medieval period and how this history affects the use of herbs today. Presenter Kathleen Gips is the author of numerous articles and her book, Flora's Dictionary: The Victorian Language of Herbs and Flowers. She will be appearing at Austintown, 7 p.m. July 19. "Reuben's Readers Book Discussion Group." Come and enjoy this informal group of library patrons who meet and discuss the books they've read during the past month at Poland, 10 a.m. July 8.
