Dominic Modarelli selects Indiana Tech

Mooney High graduate Curtis Ingram has transferred to Edinboro.
Dominic Modarelli, a three-year letterman for the Fitch High baseball team, will continue his athletic career at Indiana Tech this fall.
A second baseman for the Falcons, Modarelli hit .270 with six doubles as he helped Fitch tie Canton GlenOak for the 2005 Federal League championship with a 9-5 record.
The Falcons (16-9) lost to North Royalton (27-1) 5-2 in the Division I district tournament.
A leadoff batter for Fitch the past two seasons, Modarelli batted .405 as a junior as the Falcons posted a 21-8 mark. He was a second-team selection on the Federal League All-Star squad.
Modarelli graduated with a 3.4 grade point average and is playing baseball with the Koch Construction/Line Drive traveling team this summer.
Mount Vernon Nazarene
Dave Yost, a freshman for the Mount Vernon Nazarene University baseball team, appeared in eight games with three starts during the 2005 season.
A Poland High graduate, he finished the season with a 1-0 record, worked 22 innings, allowed 30 hits and struck out 15.
The Cougars got off to a 8-11 start, won 16 of their next 17 games and finished second in the American Mideast Conference South Division with a 18-6 mark.
Mount Vernon went on to place fourth in the NAIA Region IX tournament.
Wooster
Sophomore left fielder Dean Palombaro, a Cardinal Mooney graduate, saw action in 23 of the Fighting Scots' 48 games during the past season.
Wooster (39-9) finished third in the eight-team NCAA Division III National championships at Appleton, Wis.
Palombaro started nine times, twice during the NCAA tournament. For the season, he hit .263 (10-for-38) with eight runs scored, three doubles and two RBIs. He walked twice and stole a base.
It was the 12th straight 30-win season for the Fighting Scots, who won their 10th North Coast Athletic Conference (15-1) crown.
Wooster made a 4-0 run through the NCAA Div. III regional tournament at Terre Haute, Ind., edging Otterbein 6-5 and 5-4 to win its fourth regional title in team history.
Kenyon
Poland High football player Terry Johnson will continue his athletic career at Kenyon College.
A two-year letterman, he was named Poland's offensive lineman of the year. He was a Metro Athletic Conference second-team selection.
A National Honor Society and three-year student council member, he made the all-MAC academic team and made the honor roll at Poland four years.
Edinboro
Curtis Ingram, a Mooney High graduate, has transferred from Division I Wofford and will play basketball for the Fighting Scotts during the 2005-06 season.
A 6-3, 190-pound guard, Ingram played two seasons for Wofford. As a sophomore he scored 35 points over 10 games. He hit on 12 of 25 field goal attempts, including 9 of 20 3-pointers.
Mount Union
Kelly Croysdale, a 2004 Fitch High graduate, will continue her soccer career for the Purple Raiders this coming fall.
A four-year letterwinner and team captain, Croysdale was selected team MVP and best midfielder for the Falcons.
She earned first-team all-Federal League, all-county, all-district and third team all-state honors.
A Fitch valedictorian, Croysdale plans to major in early childhood education.
Baldwin-Wallace
Andrew Chick, a Hubbard High graduate, will continue his athletic career for the Yellow Jackets coming this fall.
A 5-10, 210-pound third baseman, he played four years of baseball at Hubbard and earned three varsity letters.
He was team captain and batted .311 for the Eagles (18-12) this season. Hubbard finished second in the Trumbull Athletic Conference with a 14-5 record.
Chick was given the Hubbard Coaches award and was selected all-TAC and all-Trumbull County.
Walsh
Erin Elizabeth Koppel, a graduate of McDonald High, will continue her cross country and track career at Walsh University this coming fall.
Koppel was a three-time state qualifier in track and four-time state qualifier in cross country for the Blue Devils. She plans to pursue a degree in early childhood education.
