Pre-Game Ceremony: Eight members of last year's New York-Penn League championship team were honored before the game and received championship rings from Alan Levin, general manager of Palisades Baseball, which owns the Scrappers. Levin also presented the championship trophy and also unveiled a huge banner that will hang inside the stadium honoring the 2004 champions.Fly Over: The Youngstown Air Base provided a two plane fly over the stadium just before the first pitch was thrown by Adam Miller at 7:31 p.m.Pitch count: Miller, who is in his third season of minor league baseball with the Indians organization, was on rehab assignment after injuring his elbow during early spring training. He was on a 40 pitch count in Tuesday's game and left after the third inning after throwing 38 pitches, 25 of which were strikes.80th meeting: The Scrappers and the Jamestown Jammers were playing for the 80th time in their seven year history. The Scrappers now hold a 42-36 lead in the series. The 80 games are the most the Scrappers have played against a single opponent.No. 1 signs: The Cleveland Indians top pick in the recent major league baseball draft Trevor Crowe of the University of Arizona, who was picked in the first round, signed a contract with the Indians on Tuesday. He is being assigned to the Mahoning Valley Scrappers and is expected to be in uniform for tonight's game.Sign 12 picks: The Indians have now signed 12 of their draft choices to contracts and all 12 of them will be playing for the Scrappers this season.Opening crowd: The crowd for the opener was 6,006 and was well behind the best opening day home crowd for the Scrappers. That came a year ago when the Scrappers and Auburn Doubledays drew 7,274 fans. The biggest crowd ever for a Scrappers home game at Eastwood field came in 1999 when they played the Batavia Muckdogs in a Pinckney Division playoff game and 7,726 fans attended on Sept. 2.
