Hazard group plans show-and-tell day

VIENNA -- The Northeast Regional Hazardous Materials Response Group will host a show-and-tell day at Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at hangar No. 3. New regional equipment will be on display.
The Northeast Regional Hazardous Response Group is the regional entity recognized by the state Emergency Management Association and the only group to receive funding for equipment.
The region consists of hazardous materials teams from Ashtabula, Lake, Geauga, Portage and Trumbull counties and the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
Law enforcement agencies trained as hazardous materials technicians that are involved in this organization are from Trumbull, Ashtabula and Geauga counties. It is a combined effort of county EMAs, hazardous materials teams and law enforcement agencies working together in a regionalization effort for the benefit of the communities.
