Doctor of pharmacy given to Lake Erie graduate
Stephanie N. Boggs, daughter of Anthony and Patricia Boggs of Struthers, received a doctor of pharmacy degree recently while graduating with the first class of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy in Erie, Pa.
Boggs is a 1998 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and received a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Youngstown State University in 2002.
Mathews grad receives doctor of pharmacy
Christine M. Novicky, daughter of Richard and Darla Novicky of Vienna, received a doctor of pharmacy degree while graduating with the first class of the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine School of Pharmacy in Erie, Pa. Novicky is a 1996 graduate of Mathews High School and received a bachelor of science biochemistry from Youngstown State University in 2001.
LAWYERS
Grad gets juris doctorate
Denise Glinatsis, daughter of Maria and Charles Glinatsis, has graduated with the degree of juris doctorate from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in Cleveland.
A Canfield High School and Youngstown State University alumna, Glinatsis earned a degree with a concentration in law and the arts, with honors, from Case's Center for Law, Technology and the Arts. She received a Distinguished Scholar Merit Scholarship from the School of Law and was named to the dean's honor list. Glinatsis was also awarded the Harlan M. Small Scholarship by the Mahoning County Bar Association. She recently attended the Judicial Clerkship Institute at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Ca., in preparation for her position as a judicial clerk to Judge Peter C. Economus of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
PH.D
Researcher receives Ph.D. in nursing, Dean's Legacy
Kimberly Palazzo Howe has received a Ph.D. in nursing from Case Western Reserve University. She also received the prestigious Dean's Legacy Award that is given to only one Ph.D. graduate for outstanding academic achievements and superior scholastic performance.
Howe completed both her master's degree and Ph.D. with a perfect 4.0 grade point average.
She has recently received numerous accolades for her dissertation research titled "Mechanical Ventilation Antioxidant Trial." The American Association of Critical Care Nurses and Sigma Theta Tau International funded this research. This research demonstrated that large doses of vitamins C and E significantly reduced the duration of mechanical ventilation in critically ill adults. This research was conducted at Forum Health in Youngstown.
She received her bachelor's degree in nursing from Youngstown State University and a master's degree in critical care nursing from CWR.
Howe is the corporate director of research for Forum Health. She is the daughter of Josephine Palazzo and the late Joseph A. Palazzo. She lives in Liberty with her husband Jeffrey.
SCOUTS
Warren teenager earnshis Eagle Scout award
Christopher Ross, son of Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Ross of Warren, has received his Eagle Scout award at a Court of Honor at the Warren Elks Lodge 295. Ross is a member of Greater Western Reserve Council Boy Scout Troop 101 with Jim Potjunas, Scoutmaster. He joined Troop 101 in August 1998 after earning his Arrow of Light with Cub Pack 122.
With Troop 101, Ross has held leadership positions of Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader and Scribe. He earned a total of 26 merit badges and for his Eagle Service Project he built 3 boccie courts designed to also facilitate playing horseshoes in the Howland Township Park. Ross, a Howland High School graduate, will be attending the University of Cincinnati this fall. He plans to commemorate his Scouting career with a two week backpacking trip through the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico.

Canfield native graduates from OSU medical school
Chenell Donadee has graduated from Ohio State University College of Medicine. A 1997 graduate of Canfield High School, she received her bachelor's degree from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, magna cum laude, in 2001. Specializing in internal medicine, Chenell is set to begin her residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore. She is the daughter of Jack and Janey Donadee of Canfield.
