NANBPW members honor scholarship recipients

YOUNGSTOWN -- Youngstown Club of the National Association of Negro Business and Professional Women's Clubs Inc. honored two scholarship recipients and their families at a reception June 10 at Northside Medical Center.
This year's recipients of the service organization's annual $500 scholarships are Ra'Sheeda Donaldson, a Woodrow Wilson graduate who plans to study journalism and psychology at Ohio State University, and Whitney McKee, who graduated from Chaney High School and is planning to major in secondary education at Youngstown State University.
Club president Tuana Bennett-Vinson welcomed the honorees and their parents, and scholarship chairwomen Margaret Floyd lauded them for their scholastic accomplishments and community service.
Also participating in the program was vice president Madonna Pinkard, who discussed the club's history of mentoring young business and professional women.
To raise funds for its scholarship and service programs, the group sponsors the annual Ebony Fashion Fair. This year's international style show will be held Oct. 22 at Packard Music Hall in Warren.
