Law enforcement summer camp for Pa. kids

BUTLER, Pa. -- The Pennsylvania State Police at Butler is accepting applications for the 36th annual "Camp Cadet" program.
Camp cadet is a week-long camp for boys and girls between the ages of 12-15 who have an interest in law enforcement.
Organizers hope the camp will create an opportunity to provide youth with a positive attitude toward the law enforcement profession, while building self-confidence, self-esteem, self-discipline, self-respect and respect for others.
Youths from Butler, Beaver, Mercer and Lawrence counties can participate in this year's camp, which will be held Aug. 14-19 at Camp Lutherlyn in Prospect, Pa.
Registration fee is $30. The camp is assisted through the generosity of community businesses, civic groups and individuals.
If interested, call Troopers Leah Conners and Jonathan Bayer at (724) 284-1134 ext. 249.
Deadline for applications is June 30.
