AUSTINTOWN -- Township police will have extra patrols on the roads today through Saturday to enforce proper speed and restraint laws. The effort is funded by the Ohio Governor's Highway Safety office.
Pizza Joe's blood drive
NEW CASTLE, Pa. -- Pizza Joe's Restaurant will hold its ninth annual People for Patients blood drive from noon to 6 p.m. June 29 at Mary Mother of Hope Parish Center, 124 N. Beaver St.
The event will feature pizza, pop and entertainment. Donors will receive a T-shirt and a 25th anniversary mug.

Meeting rescheduled
CANFIELD -- The meeting of the Mahoning County Soil and Water Conservation District Board originally scheduled for June 27 has been rescheduled to Monday. The board will meet at 7 p.m. in the Agland Conference Room, 364 Lisbon St., Canfield.
Austintown blood drive
AUSTINTOWN -- Austintown Emergency Room and Austintown Giant Eagle will co-host a community blood drive 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 9.
The two organizations, along with the American Red Cross, will hold the drive at the Austintown Ambulatory Healthcare Center, 45 N. Canfield-Niles Road.
Local merchants will donate discount certificates for each donor and raffle off prizes. Giant Eagle will provide a cantina featuring pastries and juice. Dar Lanes Basket Gifts & amp; Wines will provide a $50 gift as the door prize.
Prospective donors must be healthy and weigh at least 110 pounds. They also must be 17 years of age and present two forms of identification upon donation. Identification includes driver's licenses, Social Security cards or photo IDs.
Soccer program for kids
NILES -- Registration for the Trumbull County YMCA Little Kickers Soccer Program starts Monday and continues through July 25. The cost is $25 for members and $45 for nonmembers. The program teaches the fundamentals of soccer to boys and girls ages 3 to 6.
The program runs Aug. 20 to Sept. 24 at the Eastwood YMCA. Volunteer coaches are needed. All those interested in coaching must attend the coaches' meeting at 7 p.m. Aug. 3 or Aug. 4.

Graduation luncheon
WARREN -- Trumbull County Children Services will hold its annual graduation luncheon at noon Monday in the multipurpose room at 2282 Reeves Road. During the luncheon, five high school graduates and U.S. Marine Donald Bisker will be honored.
Bisker, who formerly resided in agency foster and residential care, graduated from Marine Corps basic training earlier this month. He is being recognized for his commitment to serving his country.
