Body discovered by dog identified as missing man

Sheasby's death was ruled a homicide.
MOUNT VERNON, Ohio (AP) -- Jonathan Sheasby's parents say they knew he was dead after he disappeared three months ago, because they expected something bad would happen to him when he started abusing drugs and hanging out with the wrong crowd.
His parents learned Wednesday that a body found by a dog in wooded area was their son and his death was a homicide. Knox County Sheriff David Barber would not say how Sheasby was killed because he did not want to damage the investigation.
Sheasby, 30, was found Saturday on the opposite side of the county from his apartment in Mount Vernon, about 40 miles northeast of Columbus. Sheasby, whose nickname was J.C., vanished in March, leaving all of his belongings in his apartment.
"I knew all along he was dead," Sally Sheasby said. "I knew in my heart the outcome from day one -- a mother's intuition."
The dog's owner called sheriff's deputies after his pet brought home Sheasby's skull. The dog led investigators to a nearby wooded area where the found the rest of the remains, which were identified using dental records, Barber said.
Psychic consultation
The site was just four miles east of where John Sheasby had searched for his son for five hours after consulting a psychic. The psychic told him his son was dead and his body would be found in a rural area in southern Knox County.
The autopsy showed Sheasby had been dead several weeks, and he was likely killed where he was found.
Sheasby's parents said he started hanging out with a bad crowd during the past year and was using drugs.
"We kind of knew this was going to happen. I guess it's best to get closure," John Sheasby said Monday before he learned for sure the body was his son.
Sally Sheasby said Wednesday she is focused on finding who is responsible for her son's death.
"I'm going to find justice for my son, the justice he deserves," she said.
