SANDLOTS Second-inning rally wins it for DiCioccio



Four runs at the bottom of the second led to an unstoppable victory.
YOUNGSTOWN -- Bud's DiCioccio Construction scored four runs in the bottom of the second inning and went on to post a 7-3 victory over Penn Ohio in a Class AA League game at Pemberton-Donnell Park.
Dom Yazbek (2-0) worked five innings, allowed three hits and struck out nine to pick up the win.
Paul Yates pitched two innings, gave up two hits and struck out four in relief.
Joe Marzano and Kinsey Henderson each hit two singles to pace Bud's (9-1). Anthony Mosolino and Andy Good each hit a double for Penn Ohio.
Youngstown Metros 3,Tri County 1
John Hay pitched a complete game as he scattered four hits and struck out eight to pick up the win.
The Metros scored all the runs they needed as they scored twice in the bottom of the first inning.
Josh Conkey hit a double and single and drove in a run for the Metros.
Dan Monico hit a double for Tri County.

WARREN -- D.J. Gross pitched a no-hitter as Lone Wolf Freight Systems shut out Predator Trucking 10-0.
Gross, in a five-inning game, didn't walk a batter and he struck out five.
Pat Stantial went 2-for-4, scored twice and improved his batting average to .400. Cle Hollingsworth hit a pair of singles and scored three times for Lone Wolf (3-4).
Penn Ohio 10, LBW Dawgs 0
Pat Elias hit a triple and double for Penn Ohio in the eight-run third inning. Outfielder Kurt Weaver went 3-for-4, stole two bases and scored twice. Jim Burnett, Sean Lucas and Steve Liebal had two hits apiece.
MTC Knights 5,Bazetta-Cortland Optimists 1
Marc Vertoc worked seven innings and struck out seven batters to pick up the win for the Knights.
Adam Sturm, Ryan Monti and Zach Burns each had two hits for MTC.
