GENEVA-ON-THE-LAKE -- The Northeast Ohio Polka Fest at Geneva-on-the-Lake returns to the Old Firehouse Winery, 5499 Lake Road, Saturday and Sunday. Admission for both days remains at $3 per person if you bring back your admission ticket the second day. Kids under 12 are admitted free. The event will feature non-stop music from noon each day. The Eddie Rodick band will return as the Saturday night headliner, and the Del Sinchak Band takes the main stage at 5 p.m. Sunday. Ethnic food specials will be featured at the Firehouse Grill. Ticketholders: be on time
SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- All complementary tickets to the U.S. Army Field Band Jazz Ambassadors' July 3 concert at Slippery Rock University have been distributed. Tickets are no longer available. The free concert begins at 7 p.m. at SRU's Miller Auditorium. All ticketholders should be seated by 6:50 p.m. At that point, people without tickets will be seated if space is available.
Art demonstration
Trumbull Art Gallery will host a watercolor demonstration and book signing by well-known local artist Christopher Leeper from 1 to 2:45 p.m. Sunday to celebrate the release of his new book, "Realism in Watermedia," by North Light Publishing. Leeper is donating the finished demo painting to TAG to raffle in July as a fundraiser for the gallery. Registration costs $5 per person, and registrants will automatically be entered in the raffle. Leeper teaches watercolor classes at TAG and at Butler Institute of American Art, and is a member of the adjunct faculty of YSU's Art Department. He has worked for the past 16 years as a fine artist, illustrator and graphic designer.
