Bowling
CANFIELD -- L. Susie Wolcott and Dave Wolcott rolled 1,499 to take the lead of the 33rd annual Mar-Hill Mixed Doubles Bowling Tournament at Amron Lanes.
Glenn McCurry/Agnes Kowalczyk are second with 1,433 and Tracy Hunsbarger/Robert McDermott are third with 1,421. The tournament continues weekends through July 31.
Prep football
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- The West Penn Football Coaches Association's 14th annual All-Star Football Classic kicks off Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Wilmington Area High School.
Admission costs $5.
Mike Donato of Kennedy Catholic will coach the North team, assisted by Tim Scarvel of Reynolds and Mike Piddington of Mercer.
North schools are Conneaut Valley, Farrell, Greenville, Grove City, Kennedy Catholic, Moniteau, Hickory, Mercer, Reynolds, Sharon, Sharpsville and West Middlesex.
Jerry Holzhauser of Laurel will coach the South team, assisted by Jason Long of Mohawk and Brian Markle of Karns City.
South schools are Karns City, Laurel, Mohawk, Neshannock, New Castle, Shenango, Slippery Rock, Union, Union Rimersberg and Wilmington.
Sharon Speedway
HARTFORD -- Sharon Speedway's gets back to its regular schedule Saturday.
Entering Saturday night's event, sponsored by Lincoln Electric/Linde Gas/Stahl Printing and Gustavus Hardwoods, Jarod Larson has a 28-point advantage over Kevin Schaeffer in the Warren Harley-Davidson Sprints standings.
In the Gibson-Governor Insurance Modifieds division standings, DJ Rougeux maintains a slim three-point lead over Robert Kristyak, and in the Coy Brothers Trucking E-Mods division, Jeff Sharp leads Bill Thomas by just seven points. Steve Dapolito sits atop the Tom's Sewer & amp; Drain Pure Stocks division standings with a nine-point advantage over Sonny Wisler Jr., and in the Green Flag Sprints division, Jim Weller Jr. is in front of Guy Griffin by just five points.
Fans will compete in the Spectator Drags during intermission. Interested fans must be registered in advance by calling the track office at (330) 772-5481 before Saturday. There is a $25 registration fee in addition to the cost of a pit pass. There will also be a Kids Crew meeting from 5-6 p.m.

Academic honorfor Edmiston
NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. -- Westminster College senior Sandy Edmiston (New Wilmington, Pa.) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District II College Division Women's Track & amp; Field/Cross Country teams, selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Edmiston, a senior cross country runner, was one of 10 athletes selected to the second team. Edmiston maintained a 3.981 grade-point average majoring in English. She was selected to the PAC Academic Honor Roll (GPA of 3.6 or higher during the semester of competition) and was a dean's list student.
Old-timers baseball
JAMESTOWN, N.Y. -- The Jamestown Old-timers baseball team handed Springfield its first loss of the season, 11-5, Saturday.
Jamestown scored five runs in the fifth inning to gain the advantage. Winning pitcher Al Mucic scattered 10.
Sy Rachic had three hits and Dave Bindas doubled for Springfield (3-1).
In an exhibition contest Sunday, Jamestown edged Springfield 4-3.
Senior Olympics
SALEM -- Randy P. Strader will compete at the U.S. National Senior Olympics at Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh.
Strader's events in the 60-65 age group are shot put (June 14), discus (June 15) and javelin (June 16).
Strader qualified last July at the Ohio Senior Olympics in Akron. It's the fourth time the 1961 Salem High graduate has competed at nationals.
Browns on WYTV
YOUNGSTOWN -- WYTV Channel 33 will televise this year's Cleveland Browns preseason games.
A one-hour kickoff show will precede each game and a 30-minute postgame program will follow.
Opponents, dates and times are: New York Giants, Aug. 13, 8 p.m.; at Detroit Lions, Aug. 20, noon; Carolina Panthers, Aug. 26, 8 p.m.; and at Chicago Bears, Sept. 1, 8 p.m.
