Ex-convict sought in slaying of woman

LORAIN, Ohio (AP) -- An arrest warrant has been issued for an ex-convict in the death of a church cleaning woman whose body was found in the men's restroom before Sunday services.
Police Lt. James Rohner said Ronald McCloud, 25, of Lorain, was suspected in the death of Janet Barnard, 57, of Elyria. Her body was found Sunday morning by the pastor of the Living Water Christian Fellowship Church.
Rohner said Tuesday that investigators were withholding details on a possible motive and the cause of death.
Police declined to specify how McCloud was identified as a suspect. He apparently wasn't connected to the victim or church, police said.
Rohner said the suspect was last seen in Cleveland but fled Lorain and Cleveland police officers Sunday night.
Lorain County Coroner Dr. Paul Matus said he completed an autopsy Monday but was unable to release results.
The victim's car was found at McCloud's home Sunday. No weapon have been recovered, according to Rohner.
McCloud pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and theft on April 10, 1998, in Elyria and was sentenced to six years in prison, according to court records. He was paroled on March 27, 2004, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.
