State renews leases with Yo. Central Area Community Improvement Corp.

COLUMBUS -- The state has approved the lease renewals of two state agencies for office space in Youngstown, and also OK'd Youngstown State University's purchase of 0.15 acres of vacant real estate in the city for its master plan.
Without comment, the State Controlling Board approved the renewal of a two-year, $235,735 lease for office and warehouse space with the Youngstown Central Area Community Improvement Corp. for the Ohio Lottery Commission at 242 Federal Plaza West for the two-year period beginning July 1.
The approved lease is for $117,867 a year.
The board also approved the renewal of a two-year, $221,670 lease with the Youngstown Central Area CIC for the Ohio Rehabilitation Services Commission at 1200 Stambaugh Building for the two-year period beginning July 1.
The board also approved YSU's request to buy 0.15 acres of vacant land at 258 Carlton St. from Crystal L. Rosa for an addition to the university's 1996 master plan.
The state said the property is intended to be used for parking expansion.
Made up of six state legislators and a representative of the governor's office, the board has the final say over some of the state's larger spending projects.
