Columbiana DeChellis Dental 11, Austintown Greenwood Chevrolet 1 -- Steve Bensinger scattered five hits to pick up the win. Vince Kurtz and Pat Sposoto each scored twice to Columbiana. Todd Mounce tripled to drive in the Austintown run.Niles Schultz Service Center 7, Salem Parker Hunter 4 -- Andrew Pirigyi pitched a complete game with eight strikeouts for Niles. Aaron Denoucheck went 3-for-3 and scored three runs, and Dennis Lemon went 2-for-3 and scored twice. Tyler Dankovich went 2-for-3 to lead Salem.Niles Schultz Service Center 11, Salem Parker Hunter 5 -- Terry Pitts tossed a complete game and struck out six for Niles. Brian Wilson reached base four times and scored three runs. Jason Bird hit a triple and Anthony Palmer doubled twice. Luke Ketenhuber went 2-for-2 to lead Salem, while Nate Harlan doubled.East Liverpool Red Sox 7, Poland Coldwell Bank 4 -- Jorge Caccitore tripled and singled, and drove in a pair of runs for East Liverpool. Joe Ammon, Josh Derrenburger, Kris Carr and Garrett Miller all singled twice. Chris Moore had a triple and single and two RBIs for Poland and Wes Wagner doubled.East Liverpool American Legion 374, 15, Lakeview I.C. 4 -- Nate Howard pitched a complete game, with seven strikeouts, and he singled twice for East Liverpool. Nate Blackburn, Mitch Thompson, Seth Frampton and Cody Jackson all had two hits, and Mitch Kuhn had three singles and two RBIs. Lakeview was led by John Norton and David Somerville, with two hits each.
Tri-T Pony (13-14)
Canfield Allison Waste Disposal 15, Poland David's Heating 3 -- Mike Mangus pitched a complete game, allowing four hits. Mark Pelini had three hits for the Canfield, while Joey Hoelzel singled twice and PJ Strickle had a double. Trey Lidle and Jordan Boyd had doubles for Poland.Canfield Allison Waste Disposal 16, Boardman GF Insulation 4 -- Tim Calhoun scattered four hits for Canfield in a complete game effort. Mark Pelini had three hits, including a pair of doubles, while Vince Gelonese and Joey Hoelzel had two singles apiece, and Mike Mangus doubled twice.

Line Drive 13, All-Star Sports 2 -- Shane Parks and Brad Byers limited the All-Stars to five hits. Line Drive was led by extra base hits from Mike Popio, John Madeline, Scott Smith and Eric Polen. All-Stars was lead by Ed Gonda and Zach Humphries with two hits each.Rondinelli 8 , Mahoning Valley Panthers 4 -- Johnny Simon led Rondinelli with three hits, including a bases-loaded double. Shwan Roman, Chris Gause, and Jaymee Shephard chipped in with two hits apiece.All-Star Sports 10, Sluggers 7 -- Eddie Gonda pitched four innings for All-Star Sports and Matt Durkin went 3-for-3. John Plesea and Cody Bailey each drove in two runs for All-Star Sports. Ben Bechtal had two hits for Sluggers, one of which was a triple.Joe Koch Realty 8 , Rizer Group Insurance 6 -- Jonathan Brady and David White each had two hits and three RBIs and Jared Kirin added two hits to back the pitching of Jared Kirin and Kevin McCulloh for Koch Realty in a 10-inning game. Nick Ludovici had four hits and Michael Natale has three hits to pace Rizer.Mahoning Valley Panthers 8, Salem AC 3 -- A seven-run sixth inning sparked the Panthers. Mike Piesto allowed seven hits in a complete-game win. Jeff Bruno had three hits and Jake Dunbar and Mark Carlozzi added two each for the Panthers. Derek Ball led Salem with two hits.Rondinelli 14, Astro Falcons 8 -- Rondinelli oversame a six-run as John Simon went 4-for-4. Shawn Roman had two hits and Jaymee Shephard hit a home run. Mike Kelly had two hits, including a triple, to lead the Astro Falcons.Wharmby Sports 8, Joe Koch Realty 1 -- Tyler Moser pitched a complete game, allowing only one run on five hits, and added two hits and two RBIs for Wharmby. Rondinelli 11, Astro Falcons 4 -- Danny Costello pitched five innings to lead Rondinelli. Kyle Vaclav, Bo Slemons and Nicola Accordino had two hits each. Raul Pizarro lead the Astros with two hits.North Stars 11, Line Drive 2
SOFTBALLTraveling (ages 18-younger)
Valley Sting -- won the Maple Leaf Tournament in Middlefield. Kasey Karr (Champion) pitched a one-hit shutout with 10 strikeouts as Sting downed Thunderbolts-Red 2-0. Markie Pozzuto (Mecca, Maplewood) tossed a no-hitter against the Rattlers in a 9-0 victory. Karr's threw a three-hit shutout over Ohio Pride. The big hit was Kari Thompson's (Poland) triple. Sting rallied from a 1-0 deficit after five innings to take a 3-1 victory against the Ohio Belles. Allie Patton's (Poland) two-run double was the big hit. In the championship game, Sting pounded out a 7-2 victory behind the stellar pitching of Karr. The Sting offense was led by two hits each from Chelsea Butler (Cortland), Patton and Pozzuto. Patton tripled and Pozzuto doubled.
