Pizzutos celebrate 60th with family on Sanibel Island



XLIBERTY -- Louis and Dorothy Pizzuto, 174 Euclid Blvd., celebrated 60 years of marriage July 21 with a family dinner at Dolce Vita Restaurant while vacationing on Sanibel Island in Florida.
The dinner was hosted by the couple's two daughters and their spouses, Josephine and John Dyer of Newton Falls and Janet and Frank Slovasky of Liberty, and two granddaughters, Melissa Ann Marx of Phoenix and Sara Lynn Czeck of Columbus. A son, Jerry Pizzuto, is deceased.
The former Dorothy Turchan and Mr. Pizzuto were married July 21, 1945, at St. Nicholas Greek Catholic Church in Youngstown.
The couple are members of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Youngstown, where they are volunteers for the spaghetti dinners.
Mrs. Pizzuto is a homemaker and member of the St. Monica Guild and Commercial Intertech Retirees.
Mr. Pizzuto retired after 40 years with Commercial Intertech, where he was a jig and fixture maker. During his employment there, he was active in the Steelworkers Union and served three terms as the local union president. He is the president of Commercial Intertech Retirees and the Vestibule Club of Mount Carmel.
