Man shot, robbed at bar
WARREN -- Police are investigating the shooting of a 33-year-old Niles man at a bar. According to the police report, the man was opening the business, 2357 N. Park Ave., when he was shot with a handgun and robbed Monday. The man was taken to St. Joseph Health Center by Warren Township Fire Department.
Break-ins at Elks Club, Buckeye Youth Center
YOUNGSTOWN -- Undetermined amounts of liquor, cigarettes and money were stolen Monday morning from the Buckeye Elks Club at 421 North Ave., and a break-in was reported at the neighboring Buckeye Youth Center.
Six glass block windows on the south side of the club were smashed, and a juke box also was damaged, according to reports.
Locks and door handles from the youth center were collected as evidence.
Ridge Road to close
VIENNA -- Trumbull County Engineer's Office will close Ridge Road, about 1,400 feet north of Warren Sharon Road, today and Thursday for culvert replacement. The recommended detour is south on Ridge Road, east on Warren Sharon Road, north on state Route 193, west on King Graves Road.
Cleveland Elementary classroom ransacked
YOUNGSTOWN -- Unknown suspects ransacked a rear classroom trailer Monday night at Cleveland Elementary School, 631 W. Princeton Ave.
The rear metal door was damaged by a "pry bar-type instrument," and a front window also was smashed when police arrived early Tuesday, according to reports.
No missing items were reported by the custodian on call, though a full inventory will be conducted.
Man treated after fight
YOUNGSTOWN -- A North Evanston Avenue man was treated at St. Elizabeth Health Center for a wound below his eye after he got into a fight with another man.
The victim told police that he and the second man, a neighbor, had a verbal argument before the neighbor tried to punch him.
The cut was caused by a knife the suspect was holding in his fist when he swung at the victim, according to reports.
The neighbor fled through the back yard and was not found.
Three break-ins
YOUNGSTOWN -- About $900 in damage and missing goods were reported after break-ins Monday morning at the East High School construction site on Bennington Avenue.
The break-ins occurred at two trailers owned by the construction company W.G. Tomko & amp; Sons Inc. of Finleyville, Pa., and Lencyk Masonry Co. of Boardman.
The interiors of the trailers were ransacked and the sides were spray-painted with gang graffiti, according to reports. The interior of the W.G. Tomko trailer was covered with hydraulic oil and grease, and an employee reported a digital camera was missing.
Four two-way radios and miscellaneous tools were stolen from the second trailer, and the windows of a Lencyk forklift also were smashed. Both trailers were on the Parker Street side of the site, though reports show the gate to that side was locked when workers arrived in the morning.
Track and Field Day
YOUNGSTOWN -- The Youngstown Park and Recreation Commission will hold its annual Track and Field Day at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Chaney High School track. More than 500 children are expected.

Lane restrictions on I-76
LAKE MILTON -- Lane restrictions imposed Tuesday on Interstate 76 at Grandview Avenue will be in effect until Aug. 5. The Ohio Department of Transportation announced that the restrictions will be in force from 8 p.m. to 8 a.m. as part of a $16 million project to reconstruct the interstate and widen the Bailey Road interchange ramps to accommodate a left turn lane.
