Summer pet care tips
Bring them in: Keep pets out of the sun. If necessary, keep them in the garage or basement of a home.
Make sure pets have plenty of fresh, clean water. Water needs to be changed at least three times a day. When leaving home, bring water for the pet to drink.
Never leave a pet in a car when it's hot. Temperatures can be more than 300 degrees in a car, even with the windows down.
Keep dogs shaved or well groomed to avoid making the dog hotter than necessary. Giving them a quick shower with a hose everyday will help.
Keep walks and outside playtime short for overweight or elderly dogs. Use extreme care with exercise, just like with people.
