Trumbull County to send reps to 4-H camp

CORTLAND -- Courtney Crain and Brittany Scott are representing Trumbull County at Ohio 4-H Leadership Camp through Saturday.
The Ohio Farm Bureau Federation and Nationwide sponsor the program and provide full camp scholarships for up to two 4-H members from each of Ohio's 88 counties.
Courtney, 18, is the daughter of Dale and Marilyn Crain of Vienna. She is a member of the 4-Star Horsemanship and the Brookfield Friends 4-H clubs. Her projects include rabbits, horses, 4-H camp and Junior Fairboard.
Brittany, 16, is the daughter of J. Michael Scott and Lori Corley of Cortland. She is a member of the Touch of Class 4-H club. Her projects include horses, teen boardsmanship, Junior Fairboard and Junior Saddlehorse.
State 4-H Leadership Camp is a "learn by doing" youth leadership development experience, said Michelle Adkins, 4-H Extension educator.
The campers are responsible for planning, conducting and evaluating almost everything that occurs at the week-long camp, through program planning committees, leadership family groups, cabin groups and other work groups.
In doing so, they develop real-life leadership knowledge, skills, attitudes and aspirations and achieve the camp objectives and purposes.
