Children mark Gruvers' 50th with luncheon

XBOARDMAN -- Edward L. Sr. and Lorena D. Gruver are being honored today by their nine children with a private luncheon at the Boardman home of one of their daughters, Ann E. Flaningan, for the occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary.
Mr. Gruver and the former Lorena Baumgarner were married July 11, 1955, in Richmond, Va. Mrs. Gruver was a registered nurse for Forum Health before retiring in 1997. Mr. Gruver was a guard for GATX in Youngstown before retiring in 1980. He is a World War II veteran, having served in the military police.
Their other children are Edward L. Jr., Scot W., Wayne C. and James P. Gruver, and Janet L. Haladay, Mary E.J. Gonda and Christina H. Moore, all of Boardman, and Theodore E. Gruver of Champion. They also have nine grandchildren.
