HELOISE Be able to quickly fetch a list of your pet's meds

Dear Heloise: I know that you frequently remind your readers to keep a list of their medications handy for doctor visits or emergency-room trips, and I wanted to add another reminder to that.
It's also important to keep a list of your pet's medications in your wallet. On a recent vet visit, the vet needed to know which flea medicine we give our dog because of a possible allergic reaction -- I was at a total loss as to the brand. It would have been handy to have that list in my wallet. Jamie, via e-mail
Jamie, this is something to take into account. I have a folder that I keep Savvi's vet information in, and when she has an appointment, I grab the folder and away we go. Heloise

Dear Heloise: My mother and I were taking Tazzie, our Rottweiler, and Sparkle, our Yorkshire terrier, for a walk one afternoon. As we began, we noticed a bag hanging in a tree and thought that someone had thrown out some trash. However, on our way home, I said to my mom, "Do you hear a cat crying?" I headed to the bag hanging in the tree -- the "trash" turned out to be two beautiful kittens that someone obviously didn't want. Well, those two kittens are now growing up with names we felt were appropriate -- Tarzana (aka Zana) and Janie. Eileen and Ashley Haught, St. Clairsville
It's appalling how people just dump animals in the hope that someone will find them! What would have happened if you hadn't heard the little kitties? Readers, please have your pets spayed or neutered to prevent unwanted pets! Heloise
Dear Heloise: When you have old towels and blankets and you don't know what to do with them, donate them to your local veterinarian. Vet offices love to get these things. They use the blankets to wrap large animals and use the towels for small ones. Rhonda Risinger, Anchorage, Alaska

Dear Heloise: I have put bubble wrap on the cushions of my new sofa to keep my two dogs from jumping on them, and it also keeps the dogs from napping on them. This is working! The dogs don't like the feel or the snapping noise they hear. This would work well for cats also. Beverly Foster, Jacksonville, Fla.
