NEW YORK -- Clay Aiken lurked outside a house, Emmylou Harris stopped by a university, Nick Lachey dropped in on a stranger's workplace and Moby played with dogs while making special deliveries in honor of online retailer Amazon.com's 10th anniversary. Over 10 days, 23 Amazon customers received a surprise visit from a celebrity associated with their order. "American Idol" runner-up Aiken dropped off his memoir, "Learning to Sing." Lachey delivered all three seasons of MTV's "Newlyweds: Nick & amp; Jessica" on DVD, while musicians Moby and Harris showed up with their CDs. The moments were captured on tape and the videos are available to view on Amazon.com. Other celebrities who participated in the surprises included Harrison Ford, Don Cheadle, Jeff Bridges, Minnie Driver, Fat Joe and Michael J. Fox.
Reality star seeks divorce
LOS ANGELES -- Linda Thompson, who stars in the Fox reality show "The Princes of Malibu," has filed for divorce from her husband and co-star, composer David Foster. Citing reasons that "will remain personal and private," Thompson, 55, said in a statement Thursday that "it is important to remember that real life is not to be confused with art or entertainment." "The Princes of Malibu" follows the lives of Thompson's 21-year-old and 23-year-old sons Brody and Brandon Jenner as they frequently clash with their Grammy-winning stepdad. The couple's 22-acre Malibu estate, featured prominently in the show, has been sold and the profits will be divided equally, according to court papers.
Cox: I battled depression
Courteney Cox has revealed that -- like Brooke Shields -- she, too, has suffered from postpartum depression. Speaking to USA Today, the "Friends" star said she "went through a really hard time" six months after giving birth last year to her and hubby David Arquette's daughter, Coco. "I couldn't sleep. My heart was racing. And I got really depressed." She said she also had suicidal impulses, like driving off a cliff. Cox said she dealt by talking to her friends, including "Friends" friend Jennifer Aniston and taking the steroid hormone progesterone.
Back acting after hiatus
LOS ANGELES -- It's back to acting for Lisa Hartman Black after a five-year hiatus that included writing and recording music with husband Clint Black. During her time away, Hartman Black moved to Nashville, Tenn., where she and Black recorded the Grammy-nominated song "When I Say I Do." She also had the couple's first child, Lily, now 4. Hartman Black returns to television tonight in the Hallmark Channel movie "Back to You & amp; Me," another collaborative effort with her country singer-husband. Black doesn't appear in the movie, but he sings three songs. This fall, Hartman Black joins former co-stars in the "Knot's Landing" reunion movie on CBS.
Chamberlain to join 'Pond'
NEW YORK -- Richard Chamberlain is going out on the road in September with the play "On Golden Pond." Chamberlain will play college professor Norman Thayer Jr. in Ernest Thompson's family drama, which recently had an abbreviated run on Broadway. The production folded last month after its star, James Earl Jones, had to leave the show because of a severe bout of pneumonia. The 71-year-old Chamberlain is best known for his roles in classic television miniseries such as "The Thorn Birds" and "Shogun," as well as for starring in the TV series "Dr. Kildare." Additional casting and tour dates for "On Golden Pond" will be announced later, producer Jeffrey Finn said Thursday.
Notable death
Michael Gibson, who orchestrated dozens of popular Broadway musicals, including "Grease" and "Kiss of the Spider Woman," has died. He was 60. Gibson died July 15 of lung cancer in Dover, N.J., said his wife, Ellen.
