Valley air reservists deployed to Iraq

VIENNA -- About two dozen men and women from the 773rd Airlift Squadron, one of the two flying squadrons assigned to the 910th Airlift Wing and 910th Maintenance, deployed Thursday from the Youngstown Air Reserve Station.
The reservists are members of aircrew and maintenance, and deployed for a 90-day tour to Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.
When deployed, the reservists are assigned to the 379th Air Expeditionary Wing at Al Udeid Air Base, and often fly in and out of Iraq.
Qatar is a country in the Middle East located on a peninsula bordering the Persian Gulf and Saudi Arabia.
Since Dec. 7, members of the 910th Airlift Wing have been frequently deploying to this area.
The primary mission of the 910th Airlift Wing is to deliver personnel and cargo by airdrop and air-land techniques.
