HOLIDAY INN-BOARDMAN Improvements planned

BOARDMAN -- A Florida-based management services company, Janus Hotels and Resorts Inc., has acquired the Holiday Inn hotel and conference center for $9.65 million.
Janus bought the property from the DeBartolo Property Group LLC.
Janus plans to invest $250,000 in enhancements to the lobby, guest rooms and hotel exterior in the next 90 days.
Long-term capital improvement budgets call for an additional $250,000 investment per year in subsequent years.
Janus President Michael Nanosky said these investments are part of a strategic plan to see that the hotel remains one of the top Holiday Inn hotels in the world.
Janus will host an event called "Dancing with the Valley Stars" to raise money for Tod Children's Hospital.
This event will pair various well-known community members from sports, entertainment and politics with skilled dance instructors. The couples will then compete against one another in a dance contest.
Audience members can vote for their favorites by making donations in the name of their favorite dance team. The pair with the highest donation will be named the champion.
The goal is to raise $10,000.
According to RUKH Development Partner Rupen Patel, if the revenues from the event fall short of the goal, Holiday Inn-Boardman will make up the difference.
Janus has more than 25 years experience in the hospitality industry and manages 43 properties in 12 states.
