A monster of a show set in Canfield



The Motorsports Spectacular will include two transforming robots.

CANFIELD -- Motorists on Route 224 Monday and Tuesday got a sneak preview of the Mahoning Valley Motorsports Spectacular.
Some motorists slowed and others stopped to see Draco the Dragonator and the jet-propelled monster truck, G-Force. They were on display in the parking lot of Canfield's Do-Cut True Value hardware store on Route 224.
Draco is a 40-foot-tall mechanical dragon that weighs more than 40,000 pounds. Originally an excavator, Draco is able to crush cars in its jaws and breathe fire.
The Mahoning Valley Motorsports Spectacular is sponsored by Goliath Enterprises and will be held at the Canfield Fairgrounds at 7:30 p.m. Friday and 2:30 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday.
Truck events
The show will include eight monster trucks. One of the monster trucks will give fans rides during intermission.
Transtormer, a mechanical robot, will also perform at the Mahoning Valley Motorsports Spectacular.
Several all-terrain vehicle divers will also compete in 4x4 quad wards.
Tickets in advance are $12 for adults and $8 for children 12 and under. Tickets will be $14 for adults and $10 for children the day of the show. Tickets are free for children under three.
Pit passes are also available for $25 for adults and $15 for children. Pit passes include admission to the show, preferred seating, a monster truck photo and opportunities to meet drivers.
