Sharon suffers three fires over weekend



SHARON, Pa. -- Firefighters responded to three structure fires in a period of a little more than 12 hours over the weekend.
The Sharon Fire Department responded to a call about a fire at a vacant house at 390 Mesabi St. at about 2:30 a.m. Saturday, according to reports.
Shortly after extinguishing that fire, the department responded to a 4:30 a.m. alarm about a blaze in a detached garage at a house at 589 S. Oakland. The garage was destroyed by the fire, according to reports, and what was left of it was torn down.
Another vacant house, at 314 Lafayette, was reported on fire at about 5:05 p.m., when neighbors noticed items burning on the back porch of the two-story building. Two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation at a local hospital
The cause of all three fires is still being investigated.
