Youngstown police continue probe into death of Niles woman

YOUNGSTOWN -- Police continue to seek information regarding the whereabouts of homicide victim Marilyn Guthrie in the 24 hours preceding her death, but they are focusing especially on early Sunday.
"We have reason to believe she was still in her normal routine in the early morning hours," spokesman Lt. Robin Lees said, though he declined to elaborate.
Guthrie, 61, of 1932 Youll St., Niles, was found Sunday morning on Parkcliffe Avenue.
Though police suspect she was killed by impact from a hit-and-run situation, the manner and cause of death are pending investigation by the coroner.
Police have said Guthrie's car, which was found burned-out Wednesday on the West Side, likely was used to hit her.
